A safe and happy place
Out little guy, Ski-6, has slept overnight in his crate ever since we brought him home. He has a sheet to go over top of the crate to keep out excess light and noise. He always has soft cozy towels to sleep on and we fed him only in his crate for years. As a result, his crate has become his safe and happy place.
The only time he is ever reluctant to go into his happy place is when he has just been playing and doesn't want to stop. So we find it helpful to hold him and stroke him for a while before bedtime. This calms him down and prepares him for a nice nightly nap in comfort and safety.
